THIRTY-NINE

V looking so stylish in her jeans and Edwardian shirt - a gift from Oma.

2023 week thirty-nine

Cutest cat friends.

Morning multitasking.

Just some evening mood. Accidentally Renaissance.

I just adore how our homemade candles burn into such grotesque witchy shapes.

When Autumn is in your heart but it's still a billion degrees: A Bathroom mirror series.

On the Mid Autumn Festival my two Chinese students brought me moon cakes! It was so exciting. I was so grateful.

V just totally relaxed waiting to get her tonsils checked out. They're not at emergency tonsillectomy level so we have some time to figure out a good timing to get those suckers out.

On September 29 the four Hobbits arrived at The Prancing Pony in Bree and had a meal of "hot soup, cold meat, ripe cheese, fresh bread and a blackberry tart." And so did we. Then we all watched the first half of the Fellowship (the best two hours of the whole series) and went to bed so happy and hobbity.

On Saturday I went to watch one of my students play baseball. It was so much fun to watch him play. I love seeing my students in the wild. I'm glad mom got a photo with me since I didn't even think to get one with him!

Saturday evening was our annual rib fest (a few months late this year). We had 22 family and family-adjacent members this year, and nine different flavors of ribs and biscuits and corn for day. Grandpa treated us all to popsicles afterward.

Matt is getting pretty professional with his ribs. We all benefit from this skill. Tomorrow we'll have leftover ribs in our baked beans. It's a gift that keeps on giving.

Happy October. My kids wasted no time getting immediately into the Halloween spirit.
