THIRTY-FOUR

Our class started reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Matt's mom graciously let me borrow one of her furs for the week to wear as I read aloud. The students loved being able to feel a real fur coat.

2022 week thirty-four

When I came back to my classroom after carline duty I found V comfortably ensconced behind my desk in the fur doing her homework.

All four of us now are riding our own bikes to school. My bike has become the pack mule for all the luggage.

Wednesday night date with Papa for some Italian ice. He picked cookies and cream and green apple flavor combination. Not very appetizing.

First scout pack meeting of the year and the kids finally got to participate in the raingutter regatta.

This weekend was the weekend of the mud pit. Theo tired of his small hole by the fence and decided the best real estate for a mud bath was the middle of the lawn under the swing.

Fairy mound and bridge.

V started to get curious.

And eventually made her way in. After hours and hours we made them come in to take baths.

This photo was taken at 6:55 Sunday morning.

We just moved breakfast outside because this mud goblin was never going to be clean long enough to eat inside.

I love a southern breakfast. Fried egg, cheesy grits with aged gouda, crispy bacon, and coffee.

The kids decided to harvest the dried sunflowers to use as swords and scepters.

Then they checked on our giant sunflowers in the alley and we roasted all the seeds.

Theo found a pinecone on the way to school and wanted to bring it to his teacher. He told her about an experiment he did at preschool where you can put them in water to watch them close up. His excellent teacher decided to do the experiment that day. Theo was so proud to tell me at the end of the day that the other two first grade classes decided to do the experiment too, "All because of me!"
