THIRTEEN

Little Pikachu boy telling me in lengthy detail for probably the thirtieth time about all the different rocks and seashells he dug up in the sandbox. If he was from Middle Earth he would definitely be a dwarf. He adores all things rocks and minerals and gems and gold and money, etc.

2022 week thirteen

My birthday was on Monday! My students brought me some really sweet treats and gifts. My room moms brought me delicious delicious tacos for my lunch, and a gift card to Calloways! I felt very loved and spoiled.

The fun continued on my birthday with quite a rough thunderstorm and tornado warning. We got to spend a cozy hour in the bathroom playing Old Maid and eating the rest of my birthday cake.

One day this week Salem slipped through the front door when we left for school and when Matt returned he found him wild-eyed climbing the screen shredding it on his way down.

Unrepentant.

Salem thinly tolerating the abundance of affection.

This is why Theo cried when he learned he was not going on the date with Matthew. Matthew always ends up somewhere with cheesy fries on date night...

At the pack meeting Theo completed his Lion requirements and now will be a Tiger.

And this little bug with the bird legs ranked up to Webelo!

Same girl, same skirt from her first day of Scouts three and a half years ago.

And a bonus shot of some of us in front of the opera house from last week.

Quotes

Veronica

We found a warm toasted bagel in the teachers lounge Tuesday morning.
V- "I want that bagel!"
Me- "Yep, it smells good."
V- "Please can I have it!"
Me- "What! No! It doesn't belong to you. You can't have it."
V- "Please, please, please. I just really want that bagel."
Me- "You cannot have it. It belongs to someone else. Someone is hungry and wants that bagel."
V- "And that someone is ME!"

Theodore

Old Maid cards have a "Siren" as one of the characters. Theo couldn't remember that the creature was called a "Siren" and he kept calling it a "Signal." Very cute mixup.

Theo has had an emotional week. He must be going through a growth spurt and he got a hair cut. He was feeling so shy he started sobbing when we got to school. He said, "I can't be at school today. I just have too many feelings." My little Anne Shirley boy.
