THIRTY-EIGHT

V and T worked really hard for a couple weeks of excellent behavior to earn an Origami book. Since then, our house has been decorated by little paper foxes, hats, cicadas, swans, boats, etc. V wanted to pose like a cowgirl with a sampling of her creations.

2020 week thirty-eight

Another productive weekend (even if we were all a bit grumpy with fall allergies). I made probably two gallons of stock from all the leftover bones and bird carcass scraps we've been storing in our freezer. (I may have unearthed some turkey bones from last Thanksgiving...) I also made applesauce, a few loaves of bread, elderberry syrup, and Matt and I worked to get our knee high meadow of a backyard under control. The wind was teasing us with refreshingly cool air, and the kids requested a fire in the fire pit on Sunday morning.

At the park with cousins, and several of them took turns being stuck in this tree.

More origami. A samurai hat for Jacob the hen.

Unfortunately the applesauce never lasts long in this house. Especially not when Theo uses serving spoons to literally shovel it into this mouth.

We found the first spooky house of the season in our neighborhood this week on a pre-bedtime walk.

A helpful chicken assisting Theodore with his spilled popcorn.

Quotes:

Theodore

Sometimes when Theo wants to refer to a long time ago he uses the phrase "Back Then."
"Did people used to not have lights back then?" "Back then, there were no toilets." etc.

"Don't worry Veronica. Hard work is beautiful work, and beautiful work is hard work."
