FORTY-THREE

Family pumpkin painting 2019
2019 week forty-three

My pumpkin

Theos (with help) and Veronicas.

Matthews wasn't complete until the next day when he could hook up the blow torch to it.

V had a dress up day at school. It was decades day. You could dress from any iconic decade or misinterpret and dress from a decade from a previous century.

This is how Theo prefers to be photographed these days.

Then Western Day!

She's been really into writing in hieroglyphics. I don't discourage her. She prefers to be in loincloth-type clothing while she does it.

Making me laugh hysterically in Costco when she was dragging herself behind the cart nose two inches from the ground.

On Saturday night we had our 8th annual Apple Party! It was a bit more intimate this year being so late in the month, but still a lot of fun.

V made gravestones for herself and Theo in the garden.

Every year after apple party, we have apple cider donuts and sausage for breakfast.

This year Grandma joined us and we ate around the fire on a cold morning.

While I cleaned up some of the remaining party aftermath, Matt and Grandma took the kids on a walk. Theo throwing his classic pose.

Some pre-party dancing.

Quotes

Veronica

Riding her bike around the backyard screaming as loudly as she can "DECK THE HALLS WITH BOUGHS OF HOLLY FALA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA! FA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA FALA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA!!!"

"Pretend you loved me so every night you came to kiss me in my grave."

Theodore

"I'm pretending I am eating a whole jar of pumpkin candy!"

"Painter Finger" = pointer finger

He's been really into the song "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison. One day he asked me what it was about, I struggled to explain to him about the singer wanting to see God in his life. Theo stopped me and said, "No. It's about his mama. He really wants to see her. He really wants to be with her but it takes so long because se's at a play or something." It was so precious that he felt those feelings were strong enough to sing and write a song about: wanting to be with his mama.
