FIVE

We found this sweet baby in the wheel well of our car Tuesday night. He was such a tiny bony little creature. We tried to keep him warm and fed and watered for a day before we found a home for him. But then he showed signs of being really ill, so we had to call animal control. They will keep him and get him feeling better before trying to adopt him out. Luna was beyond mad. She levitated through the house hissing and wouldn't let me touch her for 2 days afterward. So temperamental. 

2019 week five

On Friday, Theo and I drove down to the Asian Supermarket to buy all of our Chinese New Year feasting supplies. And we had to buy a duck. Look how beautiful. And it was absolutely delicious. 

And then I might have had too much fun at the Japanese dollar store buying veggie cutters and rice molds. Lunches are going to get a whole lot cuter around here.

We got an ENORMOUS pile of hand-me-downs from the cousins. The kids had so much fun going through everything. Theo demanded I take his photo in his new cousin jams. 

Breezy and warm Sunday morning walk through the dandelions with my dandelion prince. 

He took a break from all the bike riding to hang from the fence. Not pictured is V being very big and very proud zipping around the track on her bike. 

Wonton making! I bought a gyoza press at the dollar store and it made the wonton making so much quicker. When Mardi Gras and Chinese New Year collide it just makes for a long week of feasting on the best kinds of foods. We started with the duck on Friday, then on Saturday we had a couple families over for jambalaya and beignets. Everyone was having too good of a time (or were too busy wrangling kids) to take any photos. But Winfrees and Arnals! It was lovely to have you all. Still to come is wonton soup, red beans and rice, Shangainese roast pork shank, king cake, po' boys, and then a big Chinese New Year feast with a dozen families. I can't wait!
