2017 week thirty-nine
Sunday afternoon at the library, Halloween books in hand.
We got into the Halloween spirit a little early and decorated the house this week.
I'm very pleased with my skull flower arrangement.
They were pretending to drink milk from their horse. They were not pretending to be baby horses. They were making suckling noises.
I worked pretty solidly on this quilt all week. The kids were excited to "help" whenever they could.
Finished solar system quilt for Theo's birthday in two weeks.
Morning candlelight breakfast under the bats.
And then I roasted my first pumpkin of the season! Hooray for October!

On Friday we went camping with friends.

We burned a lot of paper. And everyone had a really fun time.

It was so hard to say goodbye. :)
October first dawned cool and crispy and perfectly (Texas-style) autumn.
We all spent a little while outside in the cool freshness on the swings.
The kids at Trader Joes after almost destroying their outdoor display...
You can see a bit of poor Veronica's swollen face from all her bug bites from camping. Poor thing. We went to a friend's house to see kittens early Sunday morning.
Quotes:
I only got one quote this week:
"Grandma's need to rest too so they can live a little bit longer."
Also poor Theodore. He has much bigger ideas than his ability to convey verbally. So he ends up frustratingly shouting "EH! EH! EH! EH! UH! UH!" a lot. And we are known to lose our patience after a while.
