"Mama, take a photo of us and this castle we made!"

Friends have been telling me for years to find "Children of the Forest" by Elsa Beskow. I finally did and I couldn't tear my eyes away from each page. It's almost as if I've known this book and these creatures my whole life. This book perfectly captures all my imaginings and dreams of forest fae folk.

2017 Apple Party

This year we added a fog machine. Theodore was slightly terrified of it. He (understandably so) thought that the fog was hot and dangerous. Look at his little legs scampering away! 

Vera helped him to be brave. 

The fog machine was actually a huge hit and I'm so glad we had it this year -even if it continued to trip the breakers.

At dinner Vera thanks Matt for making the money for our family and thanks me for preparing the food.
V- "Mama, you make money too!"
Matt -"Yeah, Mama can do everything."
V -"Papa, you can do some things too."

This morning Theodore finally said his own name! Only one week away from being 2.
