Most of the time Veronica is such a trooper. Last night at the High School graduation and the following dinner? No. I'm sorry family that she was so fussy. I hope it didn't ruin your dinner...
BUT, when we went camping this past weekend she was amazing.
Luckily camping in Lewisville involves driving 15 minutes to a lake, parking right next to a campsite, and no fuss or work involved at all really. Vera has a great little bug netting attachment to her stroller and she just hung out like she's camped every day of her life.
I think it helped that we were outside and Vera loves to be outside. Also, Grapevine Lake is a really pretty place to be outside and to camp.
We had the traditional Cole camping dinner: sausage on a roll with chips. I brought some peaches because I wasn't feeling the call of the chips. I roasted a peach on a stick and that was so delicious.
After Vera went to bed around 830 (!) we walked down to the water and Husband caught this snake OUT OF THE WATER! He is some sort of wild man magician. He also is some sort of mean wild man magician because he made me touch the snake. He let it go after everyone got a chance to touch it -willingly or not.
Sometimes when I want to keep Vera asleep longer I put her on my chest. Then I get a bit more sleep. Look at that bed head baby!
The weather was perfect. It was in the 60s at night and no one got a bug bite. V slept so well in the bassinet my dad gave us. It's so handy and portable. I love a good Moses basket.
The morning stink eye courtesy of V in her crabby pajamas. This was the first grandkid grandpa Cole has camped with. Beat that other grandkids!
Camping at 6 weeks old. We love this little easy going baby. We love still feeling like we are able to do whatever we want. Thank you Vera for trooping along.
