TWENTY-NINE

It was a long week of resting and drinking tons of water for this girl. She's feeling a lot better and is ready to be allowed to run around freely.

2024 week twenty-nine

Theo at the cousins' pool party gently relocating a katydid that he caught.

Matt has all but perfected the smoked pulled pork. Well done.

On Sunday we got a few hours of good steady rain. Once the sky cleared we all ran outside to finish the french drain.

And because the ground was soft, we started on our pathway connecting the side gate to the driveway. Once again, there is no hard work like digging hard work. And there is no dinner more delicious than the one eaten after those hours of digging.

Quotes:

Theo

"Kipper D. Dipper sounds like an author's name. That's Kip's author name."

Me- "Mmm. You smell like almonds. Why do you smell like almonds?"
Theo- "The shampoo smells like almonds."
Me- "I don't think so. Unless... Wait, are you using the dog shampoo?"
Theo- "Is that the one that says animal shampoo on it?"
Me- "Yes."
Theo- "Well, I am an animal."

"I tested out what having no money feels like and it's not great."

Theo- "Can I have some blueberries?"
Me- "Sure. Here are your bloobs."
Theo- "Bloobs? Mama! No. Don't call them that."
*Matt walks in having obviously overheard us* -"Can I have some bloobs too?"
They are now called bloobs and it is very upsetting to Theo.
