THIRTY-ONE

V has great friends who will play Greek God dress up.

2023 week thirty-one

V also has great cousins who will play whatever kind of dress up you would call this.

We said "Bye" to Molly and returned her to her real family. She loved her time with us, but man oh man was she happy to be home.

Froyo date with Papa.

Only a child or a sociopath has a bowl of froyo like this.

I periodically find a series of dramatic photos of Theo on my phone.

Helping Papa finish the gate.

A former student brought me another bucket of 1800s clothes. This one had smaller dressed that V commandeered immediately. Here she is living her best witchy life: cat, striped socks, 1800s clothes, and a book.

Meet the Teacher night was this week. It was so exhilarating to see my students and feel like they're about to be given over to me. I can't wait.

Banana grams with Grandma.

After waiting ALL summer, Mrs. Jones schedule finally aligned with mine and we met at the Dallas Farmers Market for these fancy croissants.

The line was long, the company was fantastic, and the scotch egg was the best thing that came out of that morning. Sorry, fancy croissants but I suspected you were more of a gimmick than a treasure. But let's get back to the scotch egg. I need to get back to that booth and grab a pork pie and bakewell tart while I'm at it.

Quotes:

Theodore has always said that when someone is taking their clothes off they are "dressing naked."

Me- "Now that you're done with Percy Jackson you can read Little House."
V- "No, I want to get another Rick Riordan series."
Me- "Maybe you'll want a break and want a change."
V- "I will never need a break from demi gods."

Me after asking V for a high five but receiving something different, "That is not a high five, that is a knife."
