Sometimes they're cozy. Sometimes not so much. Although you can really relate to the look in Salem's eyes right here I'm sure.
V finished reading Secret Garden this week and I showed her the 90's film. I loved it so much as a kid and it definitely holds up.
Can I offer you a tissue?
After a harried day of the car continuing to fail and not restart while both kids are at play dates and I'm trying to clean and pack and I have to spend two hours at the dealership for them to just jump me and send me home but AutoZone just replaced the battery in 10 minutes... we drove to Oklahoma for the weekend. There is a good reason why this is my kids' favorite place on earth. This photo is the pictorial representation of the sigh I released when we finally arrived.
V and Katie just lived in the pasture climbing trees and chatting all day. Theo and Claire didn't get pictured because they never slowed down enough for me to take their photo. It is serious business catching grasshoppers.
Matt went on a long run while we were there and he found a box turtle. He ran with it the remaining 6 miles. We took it home for some friends and it immediately escaped. For a minute there we had a box turtle.
One of the main events of Oklahoma was firing off the model rocket we got at NASA. We got six charges so everyone got a chance to launch it.
Setting the charges.
Blast off!
Launch number two got stuck in the tree.
We also got to don bee suits and look at Uncle Melvin's bee hive.
Cousin ice cream before we said goodbye.
One last goodbye to Bootsie with her fancy haircut.
Good bye for now.
My neighbors beautiful daughter snuggling Pickles for us while we were away.
Look at his smile!
On Monday morning we got our annual adopted dog. Theo had to pose like this. And while I hate this facial expression, I had to snap a photo of just how tall and grown up he is starting to look.
Quotes
Theo -"What is your greatest fear?" Me -"Probably something large underwater swimming near me."
V -"...Or like us getting lost or stolen?"
Me-"Uhm. Yes. Definitely that one."
Matt walks into the room.
V -"Papa, what is your greatest fear?"
Papa (no hesitation)- "You getting lost and stolen."
Everyone looks at me accusingly...
V -"I may have bird legs, but juicy buns."
T -"How do they even know that cats see old-fashioned?" He means black and white.
T- "Mama, on a scale of 9 to 10 how much do you like this?" This is so cute. He never gives me a 1 to 10 option.
