TWENTY-ONE

I really don't even know what's going on here. Funyun makes a great dress up accessory apparently.

2023 week twenty-one

Last activity of the last day of school. Lizard tesselations.

V helping her friend with a bloody nose in the nurse's office.

How Theo spent his first day of summer.

Friday evening V and I loaded up the car and drove to Oklahoma City. We stopped for dinner halfway for Whataburger.

Our hotel was so fun. We got a little dizzy looking over the balcony, but V just loved the glass elevators.

For breakfast the girl got whatever she wanted: oatmeal, sausage, and my biscuits and gravy. Everything was really good.

Our first stop was the botanical gardens almost just across the street from our hotel.

Then we went to the zoo for a quick visit. V wasn't sure if she actually enjoyed riding a camel.

She much preferred riding fake animals.

Quick lunch at Hobby's Hoagies. An unexpected pit stop turned into one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten.

Annnnnnd, the real reason we were in OKC was to see Hamilton!

I was very generously given two tickets to the matinee performance, so we gave V a girls weekend trip with me for her birthday present.

She had to get some merch. We really enjoyed watching this live. What an amazing and fun experience.

While we were in Oklahoma Matt got to drive out to Corsicana with a friend and get some great drone shots.

Cookie stop on the way back from their drone adventure.

Matt and Theo spent a good couple hours drawing face huggers and Xenomorphs on our driveway, much to Theo's delight.

My garden is in full summertime mode.

On Memorial Day, most of the grandkids piled into grandma and grandpas cars and drove to Oklahoma to feed exotic animals.

A giraffe licked V's hand. She was delighted to tell us.

Quotes

Veronica

"Why is restaurant food not quite as good as your food? You should teach them how to make biscuits."

"This hotel is so fancy that I want to act fancy like washing behind my ears. I haven't done that for years!"
