FOURTEEN

The kids spotted this lovely camouflaged spider in our snap dragon.

2023 week fourteen

Theo pretending to be afraid of a snake he found.

Field Day was so much fun.

Salem looks so patient.

Making Italian Easter cookies.

V made a smaller version from the leftover scraps.

Saturday morning breakfast.

We made naturally dyed eggs. Red cabbage for blue. Beets for red. Turmeric for yellow. Black tea for brown. Hibiscus tea for pink. Purple carrots and red onion skin for purple. Unfortunately I forgot to add the vinegar to the dye so they were very pastel. Lovely nonetheless.

At Kids Stations of the Cross V kept running ahead to climb a tree to see better. I laughed and told them the story of Zacchaeus.

Easter morning baskets.

The kids were so pumped to finally be able to sit in the balcony at mass.

Easter dinner with 30 people. We had five tables set up outside. Everyone brought delicious food. Matt smoked 60 pieces of chicken.

The kids had to wait in Veronica's room while we hid 336 eggs in the backyard.

Then we gave the kids cascarones and they all smashed them on Uncle Scott in a farewell shower of confetti and eggshells.

To end the evening we did a chicken chase for special prizes. Matt took the kids to the grocery store earlier in the week and said, "Pick the candies that Mama would NEVER let you buy." They were all motivated to win the absolutely horrible candy prizes.

Happy Easter!

Quotes

Theodore:

"I named the toilets at school. The urinal is named Jack, the big toilet is named Peter and the smallest toilet is Theo. What? I named toilets ok? What's wrong with that?"
