THIRTY-TWO

This week was back to school for the teachers. One of the first grade teachers was cleaning out some puzzles and wondered if Theo would want them. He and Salem were very happy.

2022 week thirty-two

Our friends caught a cicada killer and a cicada and had us over for Matt to teach their son how to pin them out to display.

Apparently Matt was so happy with his cashew chicken he had to take a photo.

Theo is practicing riding his bike this week in preparation for school. After a really rough Monday he turned it around on Tuesday and found a way to be happy even when it was tough so Matt them out for Happy -while-riding-your-bike Meals.

Friday evening after Meet the Teacher we loaded up in the car with Grandma to meet up with Matt's sister's family and Grandpa down in Galveston for a day at the beach.

The kids have never been to an ocean where they could actually swim and play in the water and Galveston was perfect. It is very shallow for a long way out with minor waves so the kids can just go crazy.

Before we got to the beach it was pouring buckets but once it passed we just had the most glorious and dramatic clouds.

Matt at one point started throwing out goldfish to lure in the gulls.

We were there all day until the kids couldn't stand the beach any more.

No matter how many times I reapplied sunscreen we all got burned. Poor V. Theo was so sun tired he fell asleep by six and slept all night.

I worked on a little botanical anatomical heart embroidery for my white tshirt.

On the way home we stopped by Buccees for lunch. Both kids wanted to be held but rather than take turns they just scrambled all over each other and me.

Funyun outgrew his old terrarium and we got him quite an upgrade. He's all ready for school this week too.
