THIRTY

On Thursday I flew to Denver for a long weekend with my lovely former college roommate Lauren. Our flights did not align so I had one whole day alone before she arrived. I used it to orient myself and do some solo exploring. Museums are quite lovely experiences alone.

2022 week thirty

On my morning alone I went to the Denver Natural History museum and took too many photos in the gemstone gallery because I felt guilty that treasure loving  Theo wasn’t there to see it with me.

Giant petrified tree trunk

In our lovely Airbnb where we spent many hours chatting and laughing.
Fish tank window in the Airbnb!

The beautiful interior at a tapas restaurant.

Look how excited we are to be dining at The Wolfs Tailor. It was going to be a very unique experimental dining experience. Unfortunately for us very overheated sweaty ladies our reservation was accidentally for three days later!! Tragic.

Platform 9 3/4 can also be found at a costume shop in Denver for those of us who can’t make it to Kings Cross.

Our last dinner together at a dim sum/ping pong restaurant.

The most beautiful dessert I’ve ever eaten: lychee panna cotta with pistachios and raspberry coulis.

Feeding the koi fish on our way out.

In City Park on our last morning together.

Matt just adopted Adventure Dad mode while I was gone. The kids kept telling him they were having so much fun without me! Sushi pizza SpongeBob lunch.

Theo was so excited to tell me he spotted a black widow on their walk to the donut shop.

Another adventure Dad experience with Matt this weekend: tubing for the first time. Theo was very scared his first try but came around to it.

Before I left for my trip we had some roof repairs to patch some soft spots. Hopefully it will keep us going for a few more years.

Earlier in the week, Theo helped me make chocolate chip cookies.

Our generous friends sent us beetles they caught in North Carolina. Theo didn’t know such exciting packages could arrive in the mail.
