TWENTY

We got a strong heat wave last week. We ate a lot of popsicles.

2022 week twenty

Scientist gardener boy examining his sunflower garden and getting the first tomatoes of the season.

End of Year program Thursday night.

Theo won the scientist award for his class. No one was surprised. He definitely has a "mind for inquiry about the world around" him.

Theo and Vera both got straight A honor roll as well. We are very proud of their hard work.

On Friday, both kids bridged to their next scout rank. We now have a Webelo, and...

a tiger.

V finished the 4th Harry Potter book, so we let her stay up late on Friday to watch the movie. She was entranced.

Saturday morning croissants at the bakery.

On Sunday morning we went to explore a creek that is close to our house.

It was all very magical until we found a rusty office chair bottom in the murky water.

And everyone was rather redolent of sewage afterward, so it's unlikely we'll be going back often. However, it is skipping rock heaven there, so that was a plus.

Sunday afternoon found us in Dallas for Brick Fest Live! A lego enthusiast convention.

The kids spent over an hour in this sea of legos building their creations.

Matt has a new acquisition.

And our garden is looking delightfully untidy.
