SIXTEEN

Palm Sunday

2022 week sixteen

V showing off her baptism dress I made for her to her specifications. She insisted it must be "really breezy."

For Family Date, Theo begged us to take him to oysters. He was in it for the cool shells but his determination gave him the courage to eat the oysters even though I know he didn't like them. He was so excited. V was very very upset by being made to try one.

Oma came to visit for Easter!

We went to Cane Rosso for the best pizza you can find in DFW.

We dyed Easter eggs.

Vera got baptized at the Easter Vigil Mass. We were so grateful for those who came to support her. I apologize again that the 2.5 hour mass was really more like 4 hours. You all were so generous with your time.

Her goober smile here is everything.

Nearing 10pm and getting droopy.

The long awaited Eucharist. She was so excited. She says it was worth waiting until 11pm for it.

With her godfather Mr. Murdock. We're grateful for his 30+ year friendship with Matt.

11:45 and we are all wilting. We are not European and cannot handle midnight festivities.

Our Easter Sunday walk led us to a patch of bluebonnets. And as is custom you must sit in them and be photographed during bluebonnet season. Now don't ask me why, no one quite knows the reason.

The dandelion prince emerges after his winter slumber.

Most of the cousins all lined up and ready to hunt for eggs!

V being a goober in class.

A family of giraffes.

Theo and his mussel shells. He has a kindred spirit in his kindergarten class. A girl brought mussels as her school snack (a girl after Theo's own heart) and she let Theo have two of the shells (a girl REALLY after Theo's own heart).

Theo and snake 1 of 3 that he caught this weekend. My poor mom had to put up with way more creepy crawlies than she is accustomed to.

Aaaaand this... I don't even know what to say. All the kids made Easter Bunnies in art class this week. Theo decorated a super cute Pikachu one. Vera? Well she made an Angels in the Outfield one and the rabbit is SMOKING A CIGARETTE! I cannot believe it. I'm sorry Mrs. Robinson. I'm sorry my daughter drew drug paraphernalia at school... 90's kids movies are rougher than we remember...

Quotes:

Theodore

"Oysters are better than ice cream because you can keep the shells!"

Veronica

"I can do this as easily as eating bread!"

V- "You have skittles in your pockets!"
Matt- "What?! No of course I don't!"
V- "Yes! 'Tis do!"  'Tis do is now our catch phrase.
