TWENTY-FOUR

Theo spent a good deal of time doing coloring pages this week. I love it when he finds something to concentrate wholly on, his intensity is charming when it's put to constructive means.

2021 week twenty-four

Summer breakfast: ricotta, pine nut, squash blossom omelette and a just-picked tomato.

Vera got to go to her first ever Cubscout Day Camp! It was cancelled last year. On the first day, she cried at drop off, but by day two (pictured here) she was happy as could be. I pick her up after 6 hours outside all afternoon and evening and she is just buzzing with childhood joy.

And, our kitchen is at it again! We had to tunnel through our just-laid tile to access the sewer line and repair two leaks.

Sigh. Another two weeks of cramming everything into the living room and squeezing into shared bedrooms.

This was Theos room.

Luckily, because the carpet was so new it was simple for someone to just re-stretch and tack it. And because insurance helped pay for it, they wouldn't allow a tile patching, so we get a whole new freshly tiled kitchen.

While we were stuck in the back rooms during renovations, we played around with the voila app turning ourselves into Pixar-type characters. It was hard to find one that resembled me.

But all of Vera's captured her essence.

Follow up allergy testing after 3 years of immunotherapy. She is doing so much better! She only reacted moderately to 6 allergens. That's so much different from her 30+ mild-severe reactions three years ago.

We have some sort of wasp laying eggs on my grape leaves and my grapevine responds by forming these witchy-looking plant cones over them. Definitely something you'd see in one of the Hogwarts greenhouses. :)
Quotes:

Theodore

"I cant WAIT to be in the government so I can make all the dollar bills I want and take them!"

I spy on Theo out my window. He stops and looks up and gives a thumbs up around the corner of my house. When he comes in I ask, "Who did you give a thumbs up to?
Theo, "A bird."

"No! Mama, you have to be in really thinking land. You can't be in dream land!"

"This is my warrior hermit crab named Herman E Calloway."

Gesturing to Mexico, "Sorry Mama, but when I'm a grown up I'm going to live here." I guess he upgraded his dream of moving to Oklahoma.

Looking at dinner, "This is so beautiful it looks like it can be in a magazine!"

"Grandpa Dean's new name is Grandpa Bean Burrito sweet nugget!"

Veronica

"Ugh! I need a proboscis!"

Playing sword fighting, V elects to be Robin Hood.
T -"I want to be a warrior who has fought in all the wars and won most of them."
V- "Then you need to be Aries. God of war. Duh."

Me- "Ew, V you're dripping cheese!"
V- "Dripping cheese or sharding cheese?"

V- "Boobie traps are for protecting something valuable!"
T- "Yes, I'm protecting myself!"
