FORTY-FIVE

75% of our photos are now of Salem.

2020 week forty-five

I love the whimsy of kindergarten. This was a gift a student brought me from home. A picture, a fringed toilet paper roll, and a single strawberry. I also had another student very seriously tell me, "My grandpapa tells me whenever you hiccup you grow a little bit."

Salem wearing his paper finery while Matt is working on a large-scale origami project.

Salem receiving secrets of the origami crane.

He is the best cat though. He patiently tolerates all the pesting of the goblins, and then even elects to sleep with them at night.

On Saturday morning, V asked if she could have a hammer and some nails. We said yes, and didn't see the kids for hours and hours. They spent all day building from wood scraps.

She came in to show us her wood scissors that she made while my hand was deep in kneading bread dough and couldn't shoo her off of me.

Quotes:

Theodore

Pointing to Alex Trebek, "Is this our new president?" I think that would have been a president we could have all agreed on.

Veronica

"The blood from my tooth mixed with my spit tastes like those disgusting popsicles you once bought us." A really savage burn about popsicles she didn't like from three months ago. She will not let it rest.
