Happy Thanksgiving!

2020 week forty-eight

V got her first filling. A disappointing milestone.

I grilled one of our turkeys for Thanksgiving this year. It was so crisp and beautiful. We had a large, albeit masked, Thanksgiving. 

During the break Matt replaced the vanities in both bathrooms. Before.

During, when Salem crawled into the walls...

After. It was a much bigger job than anticipated, but it looks so nice. 

Once Thanksgiving was over, we rushed off to buy a Christmas tree. And one for each kids' room, and one for my classroom.

But of course a truck was not needed. 

Theo and V got to go to a nerf war birthday party. They had so much fun and V really wants to do it for her birthday next year. 

So far, Salem has behaved himself around the tree. He really only takes issue with the tree skirt which I find in a new location every morning crumpled up and well-scolded.

We forced Theo to wait two whole days before we could all be together to decorate the tree. It nearly broke him. He kept sneaking ornaments and ribbon out of the box to surreptitiously decorate it. 

While having to wait forever for his parents to allow him to decorate the big tree, Theo spent all his creative juices building and rebuilding a "Christmas Set" for his craft table. He has spent most of the Thanksgiving holiday being actively making and creating. I love to see him bringing beauty into his world.

Veronica also has been crafting and building inside and outside. They spent a whole day outside with screws and vice grips exploring the limits of what a pumpkin and cardboard could handle.

Two weeks ago

T- "Are Jacob and Kaleigh sleep-in people."

Me- "Not really. They usually get up kind of early."

This week. Jacob and Kaleigh sleep in until 8am one morning.

T indignantly sobbing- "You PROMISED they weren't sleep-in people!"
