NINETEEN

I made biscotti this week and Vera discovered the delight of a quick dip of biscotti into coffee.

2020 week nineteen. Quarantine week eight.

We got a milk frother. We are frothing everything now. It has made our afternoon reconnecting time (aka coffee-o'clock) all the more delightful.

We got to do a teacher drive by to say goodbye to Vera's first grade teacher and show our teacher appreciation.

The way she mixes patterns...

Matt 30 feet up in a tree drilling toward his face in 45 mph winds to make the kids a new swing. He also pruned a bunch of huge branches that were blocking out a lot of sun from my garden.

No one died and the kids are so happy.

When you have a yard full of tree branches, you decorate them with chickens.

Whenever she chooses a Papa shirt to sleep in, she always chooses some of Matt's more ridiculous and frightening ones. I can just see her beautiful face as a middle schooler wearing her dad's Black Sabbath t-shirt to school feeling "so cool."

We helped celebrate a cousin's birthday this weekend with enormous cotton candy cones artfully constructed by Matthew.

Sunday morning Mother's Day breakfast and treats in bed. Theo cried when Matt brought me real breakfast and that meant he wasn't going to get to eat preztels and gummies for breakfast.
Quotes

Theodore

Highly upset at the excitement over V losing another tooth, "I wish teeth didn't EXIST!"

While eating a snack he screams "MMMMMM! Nothing in the WORLD is as good as Nutella!"

"When the corona virus is over trouble will come to an end!"

Almost in tears, "Oh! OH! OH! Look at these! AWWWWW! Look at these baby screws! They are just so cute and little. Awwwwww."

Veronica

"Look at this cat! Luna is as black as a young panther."

"Hmm. This was made in China. I wonder if it has the corona virus."

Me- "You need to write your teacher a card."
V- "I don't know what to write."
Me- "Tell her you miss her and tell her the things you miss about school."
V- "I don't miss anything..." Real life is going to rudely awaken her in a couple months.
