FOURTEEN

V had an art lesson about Van Gogh this week. This was her version of Sunflowers.

2020 week fourteen. Quarantine week three.

Our chickens are fat and feathery.

Saturday was rainy so we painted.

What started as a romantic breakfast for two in bed was commandeered by goblins -as most things romantic are...

V made her own broom.

A slow Sunday was made for chili. Here is Real Texas Chili: a big ol' chuck roast cut into cubes. Salt and Pepper and brown in batches in a dutch oven in bacon fat. Chop up a big onion and a few cloves of garlic. Saute in the bacon fat. Stir in 2-4 tablespoons chili powder and 1 tsp cumin. 1-2 tsp fresh oregano. Put meat back in and stir to coat in spices. Salt and pepper again. Barely cover meat with liquid of choice: beef broth, water, or canned tomatoes or a combo. Bring to boil and reduce heat cover and cook for 3-4 hours. Serve with beans on the side and fritos and fixins (green onions, sour cream, cheddar cheese, sliced jalapenos, cilantro, salsa, etc.)

The kids just love Indiana Jones after we watched them. Here Vera built a Temple of Doom.

Theo made a lego gun.

On Sunday we took a long, very long, too long, bike ride to Grandma and Grandpas house for some social distancing socializing.

Theo's favorite craft from this week.

V had to make a Boston Tea Party protest sign. I love it.

Quotes

Theodore

"Do you want to know the secret of love? You have so love someone forever with all your heart if you want to have love."
