THIRTY-FOUR

Last Friday we got a call saying a spot opened up at the charter school just outside our neighborhood. We had a day to figure out if we wanted to make the shift, could gather all that was necessary, etc. But in the end we decided it was worth it to take the opportunity and try. V was hesitant, but was pretty sold on being able to ride her own bike to school (next to me, of course). She's been all smiles all week, so I guess we made a good decision.

2019 week thirty-four

Theo has been working so so hard on keeping his pants dry at night. I keep telling him he may not be big enough yet but he was insistent. After two months he finally gathered 10 days (very sporadically) of dry pants and earned a new lego set. While I was cleaning up the backyard one day this week he set up a tray and the directions and went to work.

He only needed help now and then. He was so proud and I was so amazed that he could follow the directions and build this set on his own.

V's first two days of school were perilous for her. She bonked heads one day, and then slipped while swinging between desks and smashed her little ear! It was so badly bruised. Poor thing.

Naked eggplant parmesan with peso noodles. A beautiful dinner that my kids actually liked but for one reason or another cried through the entire time and went to bed early.
Quotes

Veronica

"I was just so puzzled."

"Put this as the sentry." Who are you with these grand words, child?

Theodore

"It's just very hard to do nice things."

"If a person loves a child they read them FOUR books! Not just two!"
