FIFTY-ONE

Monday morning dawned with a hand-knitted Santa hat for our lone remaining chicken. This particular mystery is finally solved. Matt's parents have been the sneaky chicken deliverers. The hat was a good clue because I don't know that many other people who knit beside myself and Matt's dad.
 2018 week fifty-one

V had a sickly week this week and missed the last two days of school. On Friday we rode the bike to Starbucks to sit in the warmth and drink hot chocolate and play dominoes really loudly. The juniper latte is A+, but coffee makes me grumpy. Combine that with stir-crazy pre-Christmas kids and well, ahem, Friday wasn't a stellar behavior day for anyone in our house.

Three hours later I look like I'm facing the decision to jump into the Atlantic or stay on the Titanic.

But I found some time somewhere to make a nice skirt this week.

Friday evening was much better celebrating 8 years of marriage to this goof ball under a winter-solstice full moon and a bowl of warm matzo ball soup. The cheesecake we shared later dropping crumbs into our bed to find later (in my hair) was fantastic.

Sunday morning we had a lot of fun decorating a hot mess of a gingerbread house. Each kid only got one time out during the process. Christmas Adam is no joke... the wild excitement coupled with not eating a proper meal in three days has pushed these goblins into a wild-eyed frenzy broken by intermittent ridiculous levels of cuteness. I bet if Santa made 10 commandments he would also include not using his name in vain. There have been so many Santa threats around here...

This is its best side... We'll have elegant gingerbread houses in a few years...
