FORTY-ONE

 2018 week forty-one

It was so cold on Thursday morning. The kids were little popsicles on the ride to school. Theo took some convincing to stay outside even when it warmed up to 55 degrees. I forced him. It wasn't raining and it was so lovely and cool.

Our green beans have been going crazy lately. We can't keep up, which means I might make some dilly beans this week. 

I finally gave in and snuggled him in the hammock under blankets and clutching hot rice socks.

Friday morning presented us some ghostly red bellies on the blue black clouds. 

Veronica watched the old "Little Vampire" movie this weekend. Matt made her some vampire teeth. She ran around the house happy as can be hissing and swooping in and out of rooms. 

Saturday night was our 7th annual Apple Party. We opened up floor space in the garage for fear of rain.  

But it's a lucky thing we did because we had quite a turn out. Nothing makes me happier than packing 70 people into my house and feeding them. Hopefully they were all as happy as I was even if there weren't enough places to sit.

Many of the kids braved the mud and standing water to get all their wiggles out outside.

Veronica has been acting very very sassy lately, and it's tiring. At the same time, she has been giving people gifts at every turn. Almost every friend who comes to our house leaves with a toy or 2-3 pictures V has drawn. She has developed this wonderful generosity and it makes her so happy to make people happy. She has been drawing so much. Pages and pages and pages of full color pictures with sentences and labels. I'm so impressed with how eagerly she is trying to sound out words and write. Her pictures are so cute.
