THIRTY-THREE

Finished summer activity with Papa. They built several Lego cars with him almost every day after work all summer. They were immediately scrapped for parts.
2018 week thirty-three

First day of school morning! So many hugs and squeezes and everyone awake at least 30 minutes too early.

Her nerves were all over the place. She forgot how to smile naturally. :)

Veronica wanted to take a first day of school photo of me and Theo. Theodore wanted a tiny braid in his hair to match Veronica. It's hard to see, but it's there.

First bike ride to school!!

Last hugs good bye.

My first day of school 24 years ago.

Theodore was an angel pie all day. He just luxuriated in having me all to himself. Luckily the weather was pleasant and we were outside all morning.

Look how green and tall the garden looks! It's finally cooling down enough that all my plants are setting out blossoms again. I think these bean plants will take over everything else.

We turned a Lego disaster into a game. I gave him a dustpan and told him he was a bulldozer. It is amazing how quickly he cleaned up. He loved it and wouldn't even give me a turn. Later he tried this again on hard wood floor. That didn't work. Luckily I stopped him before the scratched anything up too badly.

Back to ballet! Theodore got to start a baby creative dance class. Mostly it was me dancing while I held him. BUT he had the biggest smile the whole time. I think it was more just the mom time and loud music that he loved. Note to self: always wear stretchy clothes to Theo's dance class. :)

Saturday evening swimming with the cousins ended with cleaning out the filter trap and this horrible handful of dead bugs that I had to persuade him not to bring in the car.

 Quotes:

Veronica

Singing "Nobody knows what it feels like to die! I want to die. I don't know how it feels. I want to feel it." She's practicing writing her emo/metal lyrics to get an edge on her future teenage peers apparently.

"Theo look! We're drinking Grandma and Grandpa's blood!" I made some delicious watermelon limeade. This was their reaction. The pulpiness of the drink combined with their pagan chanting made it undrinkable in the end for me...

"Wow. The cat is shredding everywhere!" I LOVE that she calls shedding "shredding" it's precious.

"Aw. Look at my eyes! They look like moons."

Theodore

"This book is wild and terrible." It was a book about the circus.

"I'll do it in five minutes." Luckily he is keeping his word on this one so far and if I tell him it's been five minutes, he rushes to do what was asked of him.
