Pecan Lodge

A few weekends ago Hunsband and I went to the Dallas Farmer's Market. It was super fun for so many reasons (someone was selling scuppernongs!), but the best part we found by accident.

We had finished our shopping and decided to walk around the specialty booths and we noticed a line forming outside this booth an hour before it was scheduled to open. Whatever -weird people. As it was 10 am we weren't really thinking about lunch so we continued to walk around. When we circled back to this booth the line had increased to about 25 people. We got in line just in case we were missing something good.

I walked around the booth and read all the reviews on the wall and found the spray-painted face of Guy Fieri. Apparently we were in line for the "Best Barbecue in Dallas" -according to two different magazines. So we waited an hour and a half.

Or Husband waited in line and we waited at the table.  There were several people in line who told me that they had waited in this line twice before and Pecan Lodge was sold out before they could order!

Husband brought back fried chicken, brisket, pork ribs, bacon mac and cheese, and fried okra.

Was it worth the hour and a half wait?

Well, if you come to visit us, we'll definitely take you to try it. I would say it's the best barbecue I have had since moving down here. And definitely the best fried chicken I've had in my life. Absolutely worth it.
