TWENTY-FOUR

Delightful treats that Theo leaves me on my phone.

2024 week twenty-four

Early summer meals breakfast: focaccia, fried egg, avocado, raspberries, and coffee.

Early summer meals dinner: grilled chicken, zucchini, corn, and home grown tomato sandwiches on grilled focaccia.

Beautiful green afternoon on the swings.

Swim meet. Theo is the one in blue shorts.

V is the one in the blue suit.

Garden cucumbers, dill, green beans and peppers.

The cucumbers are a bit bitter, so I pickled the lot of them.

Father's Day dinner prep.

Matt's dad and mom and brother came over to eat dinner with us. I grilled steak, shrimp, and potato halves, and sautéed the mushrooms the way I always do.

Theo ate probably half this plate of shrimp himself. Everyone agreed it was some of the best shrimp we've ever had.

Cheese cake with a cherry peach sauce for dessert

Happy Father's Day

The kids being crazy after dinner.

Sautéed Mushrooms

Sauté your mushroom caps in butter and olive oil on medium high heat for 5+ minutes.
Flip the mushrooms and add garlic, parsley, a splash of balsamic and a splash of Worcestershire sauce.
Continue tossing and cooking for 4-5 minutes more. Serve with all that delicious sauce.

Grilled Shrimp Marinade

chopped fresh oregano, rosemary, and lemon grass

Marinate your shrimp then grill until just barely finished cooking. Squeeze lemon before serving.

Quotes

Me singing a good night song to Theo. Theo- "Why aren't you a singer?" I know he meant it to be flattering, but it didn't hit that way.

Theo -"Salem is just a dusty old brush. He's rustic. He's an antique."

Matt- "Oh crap."
Theo- "Crapperjacks."
