Theodore got to dissect owl pellets at school. He is now begging for some for his birthday. 

2022 week thirty-seven

Examining a Juniper tree at scouts. 

Theo is King George and Veronica is his loyal knight. 

V loves to exercise with Matt while Theo is doing karate. I was a big disappointment when I wouldn't play catch with the 15 lb medicine ball with her like Matt does. 

V thought Salem looked uncomfortable, so she brought him a pillow. 

I found an Etsy seller who had dead stock (manufactured but never worn) 1940s US Navy issue Women's pants. They came unfinished with seam allowances to alter to fit. They are even better than I thought they would be. I can't wait for it to not be 90 degrees so I can wear these lovelies.

I had to take a day off to bring Matt to an extra long eye appointment. I drowned my sorrow with this breakfast at Eataly. After I slowly ate this, I graded papers until Matt was done. I must admit my morning was much lovelier than his. A camera touching your cornea doesn't quite compare. 

We made pickles from the cucumbers we were given in Oklahoma. I love making quick pickles. They're so satisfying and delicious. 

We inherited Matt's Aunt Barbara's smoker. We tried it out on ribs this weekend. 

Matt makes good ribs anyway, but these were another level of glory. We were happy to share them with Darrin and Sera's family. 

We had a bit of yogurt cake for dessert.

V-"Theo! I need your help to tell me what a Mesopotamian would wear!"
T- "Ok. But be prepared: you won't be wearing a shirt." 

T- "Mama! Come look! I built Mesopotamia and the Tigris and Euphrates rivers!" It's just his enormous sand/mud pit but this time it's "Mesopotamia." 

V and I were walking the track at the rec center which circles all the exercise equipment, "Look! That man is practicing climbing stairs." 

V -"I'm not as gross as you. Actually, you're just as gross as me."

Me- "I'm not the one giving proboscis kisses. Proboskisses."
