FORTY-TWO

Two cute black kitties followed me on my walk the other evening.

2021 week forty-two

I did not promote this photo. Theo begged to wear this and take a photo. We had to go to Part City for birthday supplies and there just happened to be a Halloween store next door, and so we had to spend the evening looking through every aisle. V found clip in vampire fangs and has never been so happy with a purchase.

This little one turned had a birthday this week. We always say they can sleep with us the night before their birthday. They always say they want to. And they ALWAYS wake up at 2am and cannot fall back asleep until I escort them to their own beds. Oh well. At least we tried.

And now we are six. Matt came to school on Friday to have a special lunch date with Theo. Luckily I have recess at that time so I got to spend a few minutes with them as well.

Theo was so happy with all the thoughtful gifts from his family. The light up magnifying glass was an unexpected hero.

Theo picked sushi for his birthday dinner. And lucky for him our Oklahoma cousins were in town to celebrate with us.

We ate an obscene amount of fantastic sushi. Don't mind my elf ear... It always sticks out like that.

Theo and V woke up early Saturday morning to get started playing with all of Theo's presents. They were very excited to get to play the Pokemon card game. Clearly an intense battle. V needed to pull her hair back to think and Theo donned his professional eye wear.

On Saturday we also hosted an ocean-themed birthday party for Theo.

We did facepainting, digging for sea shells in the sandbox, and fishing for prizes. We cut up each hotdog to be an octopus.

We let the chickens out and all the kindergarteners ran around chasing them trying to catch them. To have a good party all you need is a good chicken chase.

Grandma and our neighbor helped to man the fishing station.

We did cake and then presents. The last present was different though, it was a...

Treasure map!

Matt led them in a treasure hunt around the house and yard to find the next clues. The final clue led them to a shark pinata. The treasure map was basically just an excuse for everyone to run through the house in a pack screaming, so it was a hit.

Theo got three lego sets and promptly built two by the next morning.

Sunday morning the cousins had to leave us, so we took a quick spooky morning walk. Spooky because the girls played Hocus Pocus the entire time and we had to stop to look at every spooky decoration we saw.

Still trying to convince each other to be brave and touch this particular prop. :)
