2021 week eleven

We are dogsitting for friends during Spring Break. On the first day, Twix could be found wide-eyed cowering in our bed because apparently our cat is a bully. 

By day three they were ignoring each other but at a closer distance. We'll see how the week progresses.

The day before Spring Break my students spoiled me with early birthday gifts. My wonderful room parents organized some gifts including an orchid and a very generous gift card to Central Market. My Saturday morning was spent slowly wandering the aisles filling my basket to the brim with fancies. 

V is so excited about the new headband our neighbors gave us. This one is so stinking cute.

Our chicks are getting bigger! We unfortunately lost my prettiest girl (not shown) to the guest dog. It was sad for me but traumatic for V who saw it happen. Her screaming was so intense our wonderful neighbors all but jumped the fence to make sure she was ok. 

A long afternoon goodbye on Saturday to some old friends who are moving to North Carolina. We're sad our last year together in Texas was one in which we couldn't even see you. You will be missed. 

We had a pringles taste-test game. We were (sadly? amazingly?) very good at guessing the flavors.

Matt's friend and coworker shares a birthday with National Poultry Day so he came over to have a Chicken Birthday Party photo shoot. The birds were excellent models.
