| Theo got to help me make a loaf of bread. |
2020 week twenty-four
| Veronica made her own loaf and kneaded it all herself. |
| Theo wanted a braided one and he did most of the braiding himself. |
| I needed a project for my loom, so I made a personalized food mat for a cat. |
| Veronica pretending to be a vampire. |
| My lemon trees are growing steadily. I planted the seeds from a lemon given to me by my friend Adrienne. The lemons grew in her family's backyard. |
| Theo and one of his many toad captures. |
| Our niece gave us fabulous nails. |
| Every other spare second of this week was devoted to building a tree house -while Theodore supervised of course. We imported Matt's brother Sam and his friend Issac from Idaho to help us. |
| Veronica and some chicken love. |
| After the railing went up, we had a hard time keeping them out of the fort. |
| Sam had to cut a hole in the fence to be able to fit the tree drill behind the tree. |
| Building tree houses is hard work. Theo put himself to bed a few times this weekend out of sheer exhaustion. |
| While Sam and Isaac were in town we organized our annual rib feast. There were twenty-three people in our house, 5 racks of ribs, and countless sodas, hotdogs, and biscuits. |
| After four hard days of working, we finally finished everything Sunday evening and the men signed their names on their work. |
| Sam and Gary in front of the finished fort including a sandbox underneath. |
| The builders and the children. |
| Theo got a lot of new school clothes while jcrew was having a sale. He just couldn't wait for school and begged to wear a new outfit. He configured this one himself, including belt. He looks like he's ready for his Dad convention. |
| Isaac, Veronica, Theo, and Sam on the last morning. All wearing red shirts. The kids were really sad to see them leave. V especially will miss Isaac. He taught her to use a ripstick and hold her breath under water for a long time. His never ending patience was exploited. |
Quotes:
Theodore
"It's ok Mama, I smelled the wetness in my bed and it's just water."
100% it was NOT just water.
Both my kids call all robins "Robin-red-breast" "Oh look, there's another robin-red-breast in our backyard."
V actually found a baby robin-red-breast in our yard this week hopping around. We have a nest in our big tree and have enjoyed having robin-red-breasts always in our yard.\
Veronica
"I miss Sam and Isaac. Sometime can
just Isaac come back and stay at our house?"
"This tree house is so good. It's so pretty it looks like it would be at Target!"
