2018 week forty-four

We had some gorgeous park days this week. |

It rained on us during our first round of Trick-or-Treat, but cleared up once we met with the cousins. This is the perfect Halloween photo -notice the house number? I love it. |

Sometimes I like to test the limits of Luna's love and patience for me. |

Beautiful fruit basket mirroring the autumn leaves outside. I'm so lucky that no one else will touch my persimmons and figs. All for me. |
Veronica
Since the first day of Preschool I always tell Veronica "Be Brave, Be Wise, Be Kind." when we say goodbye.
Monday morning:
Me- "Be Brave. Be Wise. Be Kind."
V- "Be a Vampire."
"I'm starving for a drink!"
V- "Today at recess I played with a new girl."
Me- "I'm glad to hear it. What did you play?"
V- "Family."
Me- "That's nice. You like playing family. Who were you in the family?"
V- "We were both big girls and we didn't have a mom or a dad. We were free in the wild."
Theodore
"Smooky" = Spooky Veronica said it the exact same way when she was his age.
Theodore likes best to play animals with me. We do everything normal but address each other as the animals. This week he wanted to be a Bear, a Shark, and a Turkey. He gets really upset if you slip out of character and address him as anything other than the animal of the moment.
"I just want to be a turkey forever."
"He [John Wilkes Booth, again] should have shot a zombie and not this nice man [Abraham Lincoln]. Can this nice man hold us? Is he strong enough to hold us? Aw. I wish he could hold me."
"Veronica! I'm a BIG Man! CALL ME BIG MAN!"
