2016 week five
It's easy to love February in Texas when you can spend hours at the park four days a week.

I want to make more of an effort to take photos of my children with their parents. I feel like this will be important to me someday (perhaps).
Matthew came home! And he brought such fabulous treats! (not pictured: Kinder Eggs!!)

Little Ticky Theodore never stops moving. Ever. Also, lovely boy, look at his perfect little head.

Vera enjoying her first Kinder Egg. Later I found quite a bit of the kinder chocolate in crumbles on the ground. I could have cried! What a waste!!

"These swings are close to the road by England." I'm not sure where this originated. Her eager little sponge brain is just trying to connect as many dots as it can lay it's hands on.
Every morning and every post nap I ask Vera if she dreamed of anything. She usually says no. One morning she came into my room prattling about something. I asked her to repeat herself.
V - Ryker spit on my socks.
Me -What? Ryker spit on your socks?
V -Yes.
Me -When did this happen? In nursery?
V -No. It didn't happen. It only happened in a dream.
After nap one day she stumbled into the living room bleary eyed and rosy cheeked and earnestly looked me in the eye and said "I want to eat the special candy from my Papa brought me." Clearly she had been waiting all nap to recite this. :)
I was singing "If I Only Had a Brain" in the car.
V -Mama, what is a brain?
Me -It's in your head and it helps you to think and do things.
V -Do I have a brain?
Me -Yep. That's why you can do things.
V -Does Theodore have a brain?
Me -Yes.
V proceeds to ask if every single person she knows has a brain.
I want to put my new snot in your nose, Mama.
Ah! I want to make those dogs stop barking. Mama it's funny to put a pacifier in dogs teeth to make them stop barking. It's funny! Hahahaha. That's funny Mama.
In a magazine she saw the M&M people and called them "The Candy Boys."
She calls sneezes issues and will walk around saying, "I have so many issues, Mama." Well here are some tissues for your issues, dear.
She loves when you parody songs (as mentioned before) and thought it was HILARIOUS when Matt riffed on "Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee" to be about Theodore pooping everywhere. :)
I dont want the bugs to get me! They will go in my eyes and take them away!
Stories:
Matthew came home from Germany this week. It was so so good to have him home. After nearly two weeks of being apart i felt like I could finally breathe normally again. Theodore celebrated by not sleeping well for the first two nights. But I was very proud that he let Matt hold him without complaint when no one else has been able to since we came home from California. And Vera has celebrated by being actually a really good listener. When we are all together there is such a calm and serene energy. I have everything I've ever wanted in my marriage and home. I think there must be nothing in the world better than a happy marriage and home. And I'm almost giddy knowing that my children will grow up with the standard of parents who love each other and a calm house to come home to. There's something about a loved one coming home safe from a long trip that injects just that much more gratitude into your heart.
