| My super smiley baby. Vera was more tempered as an infant. He's either wholly delighted or completely devastated. |
Quotes:
I'm certain Vera has never seen Dan in Real Life, but the other day during lunch as she's munching on her corn she sighs and says, "This corn is an angel!"
Me: Oh my goodness, why do you stink so badly?
V, immediately: So the monster wont get my giraffe.
This is my giraffe. He's a girl. He's my sister.
V, singing: Let it go! Let it go! Please, let it go! Please! Que Sera SERA! Let it go!
I'm an Elsa! Look! Look at me! I'm an Elsa! Mama, princesses say Let it Go. Princesses say, No dont touch me! What does an Anna say? Elsa says Let it go. I love Elsa. Will you sing Let it Go? Will you sing "click clack"? (this is the do you wanna build a snowman, but she only wants the verse where Anna says "It gets a little lonely, all these empty rooms, just watching the hours tick by! *click clack click clack*")
We dont heavy breathe. Only monkeys heavy breathe and moan and say Oo Ooh Ah Ah!
Stories:
The other day I had to be on the phone to figure out some dental insurance issues and once I was finally not on hold Vera decides to run into the room full blown heavy breathing and whining about ready to crumple. I looked at her and said, "Wait," but then she started to wail loudly so I said, "No," and sat her down on the carpet and walked away. Fair enough. She came bellowing after me screaming as loudly as she could. So I closed the door and finished my phone call. When I was done she got in trouble for screaming at me. When all that was resolved I asked her what was wrong. The tantrum and ensuing trouble was all because she put too many toys into one bag and couldn't close it. I told Matthew and we started laughing and couldn't stop. Why are toddlers so insane? When I suggested to her that she take a few toys out of the bag it was like wisdom from the future. Goodness.
Sometimes she pretends she is watching TV with her giraffe. She'll set up a book on a chair and they'll sit on the couch and pretend they are watching a show. Haha.
V has been really into finding make believe animals all over the house. She'll be making her bed and suddenly look under the blankets and say, "Ooh! I found a squirrel!" Then she'll tenderly bring her cupped hands across the room and lay the squirrels in my lap. Usually she just finds imaginary squirrels, but sometimes she finds imaginary kittens. One day I asked her for a high five and as she slaps my hand she says, "Ohp! There's a squirrel there now!"
