| We had a little Chips and Dips party. Here the kids could stuff their own mini pinatas. |
2014 week seventeen
Happy Birthday to Vera! and a Chips and Dip Fiesta.
| I made those garlands while watching a super emotional "documentary" about Wills and Kate. Too royally cute. |
| Nacho Libre is appropriately projected on the walls. I made THOSE garlands while listening to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader -probably a better use of my time. |
| Everybody brought a chip or dip to share. We made Queso and Pico and Husband made a fire salsa called "Devils Mouthwash" -very few tried it. |
| Sunflowers and Mexican wedding cookies (brag moment. A talented ACTUAL Mexican cook said they were perfect.) |
| The kids got to throw confetti eggs at a target. We should have made 100 more. They were so much fun. |
| The next morning was little V's birthday. She got a baby from us, a swim suit and carseat from Oma and a little romper from Grandma and Grandpa Cole. |
| We had a family dinner of croque monsieur, braised broccoli and mini strawberry tarts. V got her own cupcake. |
| pardon the post-dinner hair. |
| She was so happy to have a cupcake all to herself. |
After dinner we laid out a pen, some money, some cheese, and a toy. She chose the toy. So if the ancient asian wisdom is correct, she might be a pleasure seeker. We'll see. We did a preliminary one earlier and she chose the pen. So maybe she'll be a pleasure seeking scholar? :)
And just for fun we had V recreate some of our baby photos:
| Both at 1 year -same dress. |
| I didn't have a 1 year photo of Husband. But she did a pretty good job recreating it anyway. |
We love you so much little Vera. Happy Birthday! You've survived your statistically most dangerous year of your life.
