TWO MONTHS

Yesterday was a rough day for these two. Veronica turned two months, yay! But that meant that she needed some shots, sad for her -good for humanity. Also, sad, she doesn't really lift her head so we've been given homework... She was pretty upset during the immunizations, but the nurse was really accommodating and let me nurse her during, so it went better than it could have I'm sure.

Then I nursed her into submission so I could go grocery shopping. And I just realized that when I was at the store I forgot to buy tea. Why do I always want to drink tea in the summer? Why not in the winter?  Strange. Anyway, because of the shots, Vera was out cold all day except at feeding times, which proved to be mighty helpful.

Dinah got fixed last week and we've been so good about not letting her lick her wound. Weeeeeeeeeell, when I got home from grocery shopping I noticed her wound was all wet and puffy and really disgusting. And I flipped out. Is my cat going to die? I can't drive all the way back to Denton to have them look at it (spaying was waaaaaaaay cheaper in Denton but it would have been an hour plus of driving). Should I just leave it alone? Will it go away? Am I going to watch her die? Is Husband going to have to kill her?! Can she infect us? Is she in pain? Plus there were some tears.

Luckily a local vet agreed to see her for free and just charged me for the antibiotics. Poor Dinah. She has to have the cone on for 2 more weeks and antibiotics twice a day, and I have to clean her nasty wound every day.  I can't wait until she's back to normal.

So after the cat debaucle I was going to finish my errands since it was my only day this week when I had the car. But, no, not in the game plan. The in-laws house was flooding and I had to rush over there to meet the plumber. So Dinah was in her box, Veronica was crying from hunger, and the schnauzer beast was screaming like someone had cut her leg off because I didn't say hi to her, all while I'm trying to talk to the plumber and I have no idea what's going on. Sorry in-laws, I was probably an inch from smacking your dog.

After a bit I was able to take Dinah home and then it was back to the in-laws house to deal with another plumber after I picked up Husband from work.

And the plumber is coming back today, and $900 later it should all be fixed. I made an excellent grilled salmon and corn with potatoes dinner and we spent the evening at our house where we could run the AC. Vera was a bit fussy from her shots so I wrapped her up and we watered the garden.

She loved it. And we love her. She's so cute. Also, THANK YOU for the lovely dress Jill Huang. We can't wait until she's old enough to wear it.

Also, after a week, I think my bangs look stupid. Is a hair cut approaching?
