I love the Dallas Aquarium. It is such a neat place. It's more like an indoor zoo where animals aren't kept in cages. It is so fun to see monkeys swinging overhead and birds flitting around. Of course some of the animals are kept apart from each other, but it is a zoo that doesn't make me sad at all. The animals seem very happy. Ducks can swim with a manatee, and Emperor Tamarins can swing around with the Sloths. It's a very happy aquarium. Here are some photos from that day.
The most terrifying bird in existence. The Shoebilled Stork gives me the shivers and haunts my nightmares. Why am I so scared? He's about as tall as I am (not really but it feels that way) and his massive bill could crack your skull (an then he'll slurp up your brains, again not really but still) and he eats electric eels! I really just don't like this bird.
Checking out the manatee down below with my mom and brother. Also, Husband's weird hand. What are you doing?
This sloth was in no sort of cage. He just hung out in this tree in the middle of the walkway. Did you know sloths only come down from the trees once a week to relieve themselves? I guess it's better than relieving themselves on the heads of unbeknownst passersby. (very hard to spell those two words)
Open trees for monkeys and birds.
Veronica slept through the whole thing. I can't wait to take her back when she can be as excited about everything as her mom and pa are. *Husband has requested to only be called: Pa, Big Papa, or Big Daddy. :) Also, goodness, boobs in these photos appear larger than I had realized. Boobs, where did you come from?
See the manatee swimming past me?
This fish wanted to check out Husband's camera more closely.
Sea dragons are the neatest.
This "aquarium" also has all sorts of bugs and penguins and leopards and flamingos! Sigh, I want to live here.
Classic shark tunnel.
You may remember this aquarium from a few years ago HERE. It was still just as magical. Can you believe how much my hair has grown in 2 years? Crazy. Also, I cut bangs, which we all know is the beginning of the end of growing your hair out. How much longer will I last? If Husband doesn't stop telling me how great my hair looks then maybe longer than I thought. We'll see.
