The Flu

Last night Husband wasn't feeling great. Not too bad, he ate dinner and had room for a greasy slice of pizza an hour later. But by the time we went to bed he was freezing. He was shivering up a storm all night and our house was around 73 degrees! Around 3 I got up to get him another blanket and then tried to snuggle up to him. He was so hot I had to scurry away to the other side of the bed and leave him to shiver. :(

He threw off the blankets at six and ran to throw up! Poor Husband! I got up and did everything I could to make him comfortable. I ran to the nearest Tom Thumb (strangely named grocery store) and brought him back a sick pack: ginger ale, gatorade, crackers, oranges, water bottles. When he was all prepped in his throne of sickness he shuffled up behind me and gave me a hug and said, "I'm sorry for ever saying anything mean to you; you're the best wife ever."

Poor pathetic Husband. Sadly I had to go to work. He went to the doctors and was told he has the flu. Now I'm trying to do everything I can to not get the flu.

My fear of the flu is similar to my fear of bears. Whatever, it's a bear, I know it's dangerous, but it's not here so no fear. However, once that bear is in my house, well, I don't know what I'd do. What would you do if there was a bear in your house?! off track. What I mean is I rarely get sick, but now that sickness incarnate presides over my living room and computer (come here clorox) I'm a little worried. Is it really that dangerous for me to get the flu if I'm pregnant?

Any other suggestions of things I should do? When I told Husband he should think about sleeping on the couch he seemed really sad. He just suggested I wear a SARS mask to bed.
